I woke up for the usual reasons (bathroom trip, roll over) only to discover that, at some point, Pooh had commandeered my body pillow. He was in control of it enough that I couldn't flip over with it. He'd also somehow kicked the blankets down the bed AND trapped them under himself so he was freezing and I had what I'd managed to hold on to in the process.
I'm proud of my subconscious in this situation.
Eventually I was able to nudge him off enough to regain more control, but then his leg came out of nowhere to try and take full possession of my pillow. I blocked him, and he finally rolled over, freeing my pillow and the blankets simultaneously. Poor guy must've had a rough night to have moved around that much. And to seek comfort from my body pillow (he usually hates that thing. And if you're reading this, Pooh: I was officially not on your side of the bed, and neither was the pillow) - I just don't know what to say except I wish I'd been conscious when he was getting ready for work to ask him about it.
All that pillow and blanket brawling wore me out. I'm going back to bed. Ah the luxuries of not-yet being a mom.

Piglet Is Saved!
So, remember how he still had fluid in his kidneys? Well, according to the doctor it was residual fluid, meaning it's going away all on its own, so we don't need to check up on him via ultrasound anymore. Bittersweet event for me, really, since it is SO much fun to see him (especially as he glares at us for invading his space), and it gets me all giddy about the weird bumps and shoves going on inside of me. Kinda puts a face to all the action.
But then, of course, it's nice to not have to make extra appointments, pay the extra co-pays, etc.
In other news, my glucose screening came back normal (which I find awesome, since I was pre-diabetic before my pregnancy), I got my RhoGAM shot, and things are progressing nicely.
Apparently my Mom and her co-workers took a few moments out of their day last week to compare my Piglet's ultrasound pictures with my sister's two boys' pictures. Apparently they already look nothing alike and so everyone is now as excited as I am to find out what the heck this kid is gonna look like!!
Seriously, I can't stand the suspense. My chin? His nose? What kind of combination is that gonna be??

Look At This!
Look at this and deny it's cute. I dare you!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is my nephew about to hold my other brand-new nephew. Look at that excitement. Look at that happiness.
LOOK AT THE BABIES!!
Oh yeah, definitely check out those toes. I think they say it all.

Ultrasound # Dos
So, we got to take another peek at Rodrigo last night (don't worry, it's not his actual name. It just makes for an awesome blog name. Someday I hope you all will meet him and learn his true name, because I don't have phone numbers or emails for a lot of you. Or facebook. We should rectify this.), and he's even cuter than he was 8 weeks ago! And this time, we actually got a profile picture out of him!
(See?)
It's a bit fuzzy, but that's him! Definitely his daddy's nose.
We also got an arm (see his little clenched fist? You don't? Oh well, I see it and that's all that matters).
There's his elbow and his little fist. You can see his fingers! He was sucking his thumb when we intruded, and we just kept on intruding so he kept trying to get it back in and being - well, frustrated. Silly boy.
See? He just doesn't appreciate being looked at. He's not shy about much else, but other than that he doesn't like to be looked at. We have a shy exhibitionist, apparently.
So, he's breech, which makes sense since most of his movements are down low. There's still something the doctor needs to keep an eye on, so we will get to see his accusing face again before he's born. I'm not worried. Everyone says not to be, so I'm not.

New Year!
Ironically, my midnight kiss came after a blessing. At least, I think it was midnight.
I'd been feeling really out of sorts the past few days. Not sleeping, back hurting, not inclined to eat, body not regulating its own temperature, that sort of stuff. And being preggers, I knew I wasn't going to actually try to stay up to midnight. That happened all on its own, what with one thing and another. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and begged Pooh for a blessing (turns out I didn't need to beg, but pretty much any request I made at that point felt more or less like begging since I could barely walk by myself).
I just want to take this moment to testify of God's love for His children. He is truly mindful of us and I am so grateful for the gift of the priesthood. The effect was so immediate it almost felt like the Lord (in His kind and joking way that I imagine Him to possess) was saying "if you'd have asked sooner, you wouldn't have had to go through all that, silly girl."
I successfully slept a whole hour before waking, then at least another hour and a half. I'm darn near blissful right now!
Yes, I know, I'm up now. But I attribute that to pregnancy insomnia and a bladder with delusions of grandeur.
Way to ring in the New Year, right?
PS - A short intro to the Christmas update (Coming Soon!), the in-laws have temporarily dubbed Piglet - drumroll please - Rodrigo! While not an option for his actual name, it stuck rather well as a temporary nickname. So, Rodrigo has not seemed to suffer at all, unless all this frantic movement has been his objections to not having an eating/sleeping host.
Who knows? Maybe we'll ask him in April.
