The title is meaningful in so many ways. Let me count them!
We're moving! To California, if you must know. It's happening soon. Very soon. So we're frantically packing (well, Pooh's doing more of the frantically packing because I've been dealing with a rather obstinate Piglet. But more on that later.), AND trying to get rid of things we don't need. Seriously, us two pack rats trying to get rid of things. It'd probably be more amusing to outsiders than it is to us. It's kind of a 4th circle Hell type ordeal for us. Especially when Pooh asks, "did you want to keep these books?"
YES!! I did want to keep them!
........ but I don't have to. I guess.
We're trying to sell my car (Freud) before we go. Anyone know somebody who'd like a white 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage ES automatic? Runs great! Only $1500. You know you want it...
The new blogger throws me. I would take more time to figure it out, but that leads me into: Piglet.
Ah, Piglet, Piglet, Piglet. You are nearly 2 months old now and have had the hardest time deciding when you wanted to eat or sleep, unless it's right now! or in the case of naps, too late. You've sent me to the baby section of both libraries in our vicinity reading up on babies and sleep and toying with the idea that I should start you on a schedule (which is ludicrous when facing a move, a family reunion, vacation at Nana's, a wedding, and then moving again - kinda) or if I should just go with the flow.
With all the conflicting information out there it was hard to make a decision, and again the whole uprooting all summer made it seem ridiculous. But then so was the amount of sleep Lil Bit and I were getting, and how completely nonsensical his schedule was panning out to be (10-30 minute catnaps one day, 4-6 hour naps another, and not necessarily sleeping at night). I kept leaning toward scheduling his naps despite having decided it'd be a foolish venture. It proved almost instinctual.
Yesterday, he went down for a nap at 2, woke briefly to eat around 4 (I tried to keep him up, but he was out cold), then woke again at 6 when I fed him again and we decided to try and put him to bed since he was already showing signs of falling asleep again. In bed by 7, and after the week he'd put me through, so was I. There was a bit of a rocky period at 10 and between 1 and 3, but we figured it out and all was well until 630 this morning when he insisted he wanted to wake up and smiled upon my arrival, reluctant though I was. We ate and played and tummy timed and he was ready to nap again and out at 830.
In summation, I think scheduling helps. Making him go to bed early helps. So, goodbye following his wonky idea of a sleep schedule!
Speaking of sleep, I'm going to catch some more, too. As much as he'll let me.
