Long Time, No See
So, lots going on, and yet not lots going on.
Pooh and I spoke in church on Sunday, which is something neither of us has done in many a year. For me, it was the weekend that Pooh and I first started dating. I've never seen Pooh speak... I'm pretty sure...
Any road, I was so scared (which is normal) that my entire body was shaking, including my hands (which is not normal), so I neglected to watch the clock because I knew - I knew - that if I looked over to the side it would be catastrophic. So I spoke for 17 minutes instead of the 10 I was assigned.
Strangely enough, I got a lot of compliments. People were actually impressed and asking me for pointers on how to be so calm because they can't manage it. Part of me is grateful and the rest is suspicious.
Tonight we're going to our old single's ward to help out with another "success story" couple to assist with their dance. It's a nice affair with food and dancing, and it's a lot for people who are also supposed to be enjoying themselves, so our good friends Kralc and Naazju offered their services and filled us in on the opportunity for married fun times in a singles fishbowl! Rockin'! The service will be a nice blessing as well.
Also, Pooh and I had physicals last night that are part of his insurance's plot to make the state a healthier place by giving out cash incentives. Just for doing the physical and filling out a questionnaire we get $50. If we are perfectly healthy (pass all four tests) we get $100. Well, we both got $50, and ironically, I'm more healthy than Pooh. But that could be because I'm on meds. Who knows? So now we have a year to improve and collect our other $50. Sad that health for health's sake isn't reward enough for everyone, but the money is rather nice...

How Time Flies
I left for my appointment at 9:45 am. I just now got home. My appointment lasts about 15 minutes. How could this turn into a 4 hour expedition, you ask? The answer is simple: crummy buses. The bus system here is... wanting.
We're supposed to tap on and tap off for connecting buses, but my connections are never any earlier than half an hour in between, so that's pointless.
I also discovered that other school bus passes are $20 per year. My school charges $120. The bus driver I was speaking with (to discover the point of tapping off) warned me that I should not believe it when I am told that my inflated price has nothing to do with subsidizing the free parking on campus.
Also, my school is ending student passes as of September. On the "plus side", the transit authority offers student passes direct from the authority and not through any school. But those'll cost me over $600 a year. I live nearly a mile and a half from campus (13 blocks = 1.3 miles, and that's just where campus starts, not even where I need to be), and come winter, I can't walk that. I don't have a bike (and Steven's needs fixing), so that's not a solution, either. Well, it wouldn't be in winter anyway.
After all this whining, I conclude with: I'm gonna start getting used to walking it now while the weather is nice (and it IS nice! Over 50 degrees and cloudy with a light breeze... Mmhmm!), and enjoy the faulty bus system while I still have access to it.
Now I'm going to take a bath and relax and wish I could do that outside because it's so deliciously beautiful out there. But that would be unpleasant for my many, many neighbors.

Just Kidding...
Heard this gem and couldn't not post it:
As I walked into my 9am class, a girl leaving the building asked the boy next to her, "why is it cold?"
Happy February!
